Miss Powers attended West Cottonwood Junior High. She attended Anderson Union High School. She graduated from CSU, Chico with a BA in Communications, Instructional Technology with a minor in Biology and Marketing.  She received her teaching credential from Simpson University in 2002.



Experience

After graduating from CSU, Chico in 1987, Miss Powers worked in San Francisco for Keefe, Bruyette & Woods (an investment banking firm) for two years.  She was then hired by Levi Strauss & Co and worked there until 2001.  During her time at LS&Co, she worked in all divisions in the area of merchandising where she was responsible for the product line, the financial success of that line and selling the line to retail partners. In 2001, Miss Powers moved to Cottonwood to raise her daughter near family and give her daughter the opportunity to attend the Cottonwood schools.  Miss Powers attended Simpson University and received her teaching credential in June of 2002.  In August of 2002, she was hired to teach seventh grade literature at West Cottonwood. She started teaching eighth grade literature in 2008.
