West Cottonwood Jr. High FFA

Hey there West Cottonwood Parents & Students!

My name is Nicole Tomasello and I will be teaching and advising the FFA program at West Cottonwood this year! I graduated from Fresno State where I earned my undergraduate degree and credential and the last three years I have been teaching FFA and agriculture at the high school level in Brentwood, CA. However, I grew up in Cottonwood and I am so grateful to be back to teaching in a community I cherish so much! I look forward to growing the FFA program and helping each student conquer their goals.

The FFA course is a quarterly elective that will cover materials about Future Farmers of America and its history. This class is designed to allow students to jump start their FFA career before getting into high school. Students will be responsible to have an SAE project if enrolled in the course, this stands for Supervised Agriculture Experience and can vary from raising livestock to taking care of a garden at home. Students will be required to spend 2 hours outside of class time each quarter they are enrolled to receive 10% of their grade. There will be other opportunities to participate in FFA events throughout the year and I will communicate through Google Classroom when those events come up! If you have any questions please email me at nicole.tomasello@cwusd.net.
